John Martell

John is an award-winning photographer who specializes in images capturing the charm and feel of Coastal Texas.  From shrimpers hard at work on the water, to a rare pair of juvenile whooping crane twins, or one of our many gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, John’s work conveys the beauty and serenity of our exquisite coastal environment in a way that few others can.  John’s accomplishments include finishing Fourth Grand Prize Winner in the prestigious 2009 Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest with twelve award-winning photographs. Also in 2009 his “Light My Fire” was a finalist in the international Shorelines Art Contest.  He was also recognized in the Fifth Annual South Texas Photo Contest in 2008, sponsored by First Community Bank, where his “Her Majesty” piece earned Best of Show accolades, and his “Kid’s Meal” earned the award for First Place, Color. In the 2010 South Texas Photo Contest he once again won Best of Show with “Surf and Turf”. Add to this, two more award winning photos in the 2011 Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest.

John’s photography is printed on canvas, allowing clients to customize the size of each piece to best meet their unique space requirements.  His work can currently be seen in Rockport, TX at the John Martell Photography gallery, 302 S Austin St, in the heart of the downtown, as well as the Rockport Center for the Arts.
