The Associate Director and Chief Curator at

the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento,

CA, Scott Shields holds MA and PhD

degrees in Art History from the University

of Kansas. He has 15 years of professional

experience in museums in the Midwest and

San Francisco Bay Area, and has curated

numerous exhibitions. His writings have

been published by the University of

California Press, Heyday Books,

Pomegranate Books and the Pasadena

Museum of California Art.


First Prize $750.-- Second Prize $500 --

Third Prize $250


May 1 -- Entry deadline

June 10 -- Notification of juror's decisions

July 22 -- Shipped artwork due

July 27-28 -- Hand-delivered artwork due

August 2 -- Show opening 2:00 – 4:00

Reception and Awards

August 30 -- Last day of show

August 31 -- Hand delivered artwork pickup

August 31 -- Return shipping begins


Open to all U.S. artists 18 and over.

Original 2- and 3-dimensional works in any

medium, except video. Works must fit

through a standard door (80”x36”). Artist

must handle any complicated installation.

Works in show may not be removed before

August 30.


MSA members: $15 1-2 artworks

Non-members: $20 1-2 artworks

All: $10 each additional, no limit

2 pieces per artist may be accepted.

Checks payable to: Marin Society of Artists

Fees are non-refundable.


Sales are encouraged, but artwork may be

marked “not for sale” (NFS). The Marin

Society of Artists will collect a 30%

commission on all sales. Please include

commission in price.


Detailed information will be provided to

accepted artists at the time of notification.


There is a two-part entry procedure.

Image Submission – E-mail your entries as

JPGs to File size not

to exceed 445 pixels in either direction @ 72

dpi. Label each JPG as follows:

Entry #_Title _Medium_ H”xW”xD”.jpg

Do not include your name as part of the

label. You will receive an e-mail

confirming receipt of your submission.

Artist Information – Fill out the form on this

prospectus completely and mail it, along

with your entry fee check, to:
