Event Update: Art Festival and Art Auction are a Go
Art Festival is on!
Weather update from Executive Director below:

Art Auction Gala & Rockport Art Festival are a Go!
With the support of Mayor CJ Wax, Rockport Center for the Arts was represented in the briefing from the National Hurricane Center at 10 am June 29.
The following is an informal summary of the key points. You can also visit for the City of Rockport's official position on the Tropical Storm Alex, and its potential impact on our region.
Key points:
  • The mid-Coastal Bend region is outside of the error cone.  This is due to the storm beginning to turn more Northwest than North, and the storm speed increasing.  The models have slightly shifted to the South.

  • Over Wednesday and Thursday the wind will pick up to 30 to 40 mph, with gusts to 50 mph.  There will be thunderstorms on both Wednesday and Thursday, with the possibility of 3 to 6 inches of rain.

  • By Friday the conditions in Rockport will have improved and will significantly improve for the weekend.  We do expect some remaining rain on Friday.

Art Auction Guests
There is Valet Parking on site -- you will be able to step out of your car and go right into the air conditioned tent.  The Festival Grounds have been reworked and the drainage is greatly improved, so we are not anticipating poor conditions.
There are Fabulous auction items to bid on, an open bar and great food catered by White Stripe Catering to delight you, with a live music combo for your entertainment.

Art Festival Guests

The streets, sidewalks, curbs and drainage have been significantly improved over the last year and we anticipate your being able to easily enter the Festival grounds.  Over120 artists will be here with great art and master music, beverages and food under the giant air conditioned tent.
We are putting plans in place for you to join in an outstanding 4th of July weekend! If you need any additional information, please check out the Art Center's website at, or call us at 361 729-5519.
