Authors to sign books at Art Center Reception December 1

ROCKPORT CENTER FOR THE ARTS is pleased to announce the appearance of Kathleen Kaska on Saturday, December 1 at 5:00 pm. Kathleen will sign her recently released book, The Man Who Saved the Whooping Crane: The Robert Porter Allen Story,a true tale of Audubon ornithologist, Robert Porter Allen, whose mission in the 1940s and 1950s was to journey into the Canadian wilderness to save the last flock of whooping cranes before encroaching development wiped out their nesting site, sending them into extinction. Published by University Press of Florida, the book was released in September and has been nominated for the George Perkins Marsh Award for environment history.

Also joining us to sign her new book, Rockport's own Karey B. Johnson, chef and owner of GLOW. GLOW is a celebration of our majestic coast and the bounty it has to offer. In her first book, Karey B. Johnson opens up her restaurant recipe files and shares her favorite dishes, cocktails, even how to make your own sea salt. This little cookbook is the perfect gift for those looking to entertain with local seafood and coastal ingredients.
