Preferred weekly schedule, Tuesdays Saturdays
Administration: Gift Shop Management
The Gift Shop Manager is responsible for the daily management of the gift shop, including but not limited to:
- Recruiting,training and scheduling docents (requires occasional evening and weekend event attendance)
- Recruit,train and schedule weekend gallery staff support
- Tracking docent work contributions and implementing formal recognition practices
- Coordinating volunteer support with Board Docent Chairperson
- Coordinating Gift Shop inventory selection and management with Board Gift Shop Chairperson
- Developing and tracking annual Gift Shop budget goals and income projections
- Processing daily sales summaries and making daily bank deposits and deliveries to CPAs office
- Covering the Gallery and Gift Shop in the event the scheduled docent is absent
Administration: Membership Management
The Membership Manager is responsible for the daily management of membership, including but not limited to:
- Managing membership information database to track new and renewing members in an accurate and timely manner
- Generating monthly renewal communications for membership retention
- Implementing formal new member welcome communications
- Cultivating new members through RCA activities including class, workshop and exhibition patrons as well as patrons in the larger community (requires occasional evening and weekend event attendance)
Special Events Manager
The Special Events Manager will work with the Executive Director to manage Special Events, including but not limited to.
- Monthly Gallery Exhibition Reception Coordination
- Maintaining special event databases for specific facets of various events, such as event underwriters, sponsors& attendees
- Supporting directors and volunteer chairmen in event organization and on-site activities
- Cultivating relationships with volunteer chairpersons
- Attendance required for the following special events: Art Educator Days (January), Kick-off Party and Tour of Homes(April), Art Auction Party and Art Festival (July), Film Festival (November)
Required Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position will be an energetic, resourceful, innovative, positive and outgoing professional with many of the following attributes:
- EDUCATION: Minimum of Undergraduate Degree or Equivalent Work Experience preferred along with demonstrated interest in the arts.
- ORGANIZATION/MULTITASKING:Excellent time management skills with ability to plan, prioritize deadlines and handle multiple projects in different stages of development at once; Maintain organized and up-to-date project information
- COMPUTER LITERACY: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Access, Email, Web Navigation; Ability to distinguish various file types and maintain organized files in a shared network environment; Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) Excel, Google Documents, Powerpoint, and Publisher
- ACCOUNTING: Accounting experience preferred.
- Must have money handling and basic math skills
- PEOPLE SKILLS: Ability to deal effectively with a variety of persons.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with people to build, motivate, mentor and supervise volunteers and weekend gallery staff.
- FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING: Able to work occasional evenings and weekends and major special events, able to be on call for additional events
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift up to 40 lbs, work on ladders and with basic tools involved in managing store inventory and displays
- TEAM PLAYER: Able to seek efficient and creative ways to solve problems while working with a team of staff, board and volunteers; Able to exercise good judgment and self direction when appropriate; possess a positive attitude and outlook with an interest in contributing to a fun and creative work atmosphere
