Rockport Film Festival Moves to a New Venue

The Rockport Film Festival, set to bring a weekend of independent cinema to Rockport November 6-8 for its eighth year, has just announced that Rockport Cinema 4 will be its main screening venue for 2014. The festival will open with a party and outdoor screening at Rockport Center for the Arts on Thursday November 6, then move to Rockport Cinema 4 on Friday and Saturday, November 7-8 for the remainder of film showings.

“We're excited to be working with Cinema 4 to bring another year of independent films to Rockport,”said Festival Managing Director John Aäsp.“With a larger screen, comfortable seating and all digital presentation, we expect the festival to take on a heightened cinematic experience.”

Cinema 4 owner Jeff Dinger is gearing up to host the festival this fall. “I'm delighted Cinema 4 will provide a venue for the Rockport Film Festival. With the digital projection we've added to our theaters, I think the presentation will please the filmmakers and this year's attendees.”

VIP passes, which grant priority access to all festival screenings and events, will go on sale October 1 at The 2014 film selections and schedule will be announced shortly thereafter. Tickets to individual showings will be available at Cinema 4 November 7-8.

“We plan to present a full roster of films from Texas and all over the world in a variety of genres,”said Aäsp. “It's a real opportunity for our community to see a slice of some of the best independent films being produced today.”
