ART CENTER “Currents” Exhibition

Rockport, TX -- The annual “Currents” Exhibition, featuring the work of members of the Rockport Center for the Arts, will be held December 6 – December 29 at the Center, which is located at 902 Navigation Circle.  The exhibit will feature an array of media including sculptures, watercolors, oils and photography.  Last year, over 100 artists participated in the exhibition. The submissions will be judged by Ana Montoya, owner of AnArte Gallery in San Antonio.  Five artists will be named Merit Artists at the opening reception, and a sixth artist will be chosen by “People’s Choice” vote during the exhibition. The five Merit winners and “The People’s Choice” award winner will have their works displayed at a special exhibition next summer. “The depth of talent among our members is staggering,” noted Larry Felder, the Center’s new associate director.  “We’re always amazed by the creativity and scope of work, especially from individuals whose artistic forte was previously unknown to us.”

A non-profit organization, the Rockport Center for the Arts is dedicated to providing an environment that nurtures the expression and appreciation of art for residents and visitors alike.
