ROCKPORT, TX --  The Rockport Center for the Arts is pleased to present jazz guitarist Aaron Flores as part of its ongoing Young Performing Artists Series.  The concert will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26th at the Main Street Arts Performing Arts Center, located at 902 E. Main Street. 

Sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts, an Anonymous Donor, In Memory of Gary Cooper, and the Margaret Sue Rust Foundation, the program is designed to showcase the talents of young performers in the area. 

Tickets, which may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Art Center, are $3 for individuals and $8 families.

Flores began his musical studies at the tender age of six and has continued to study music throughout his life. 

His studies have covered many genres of music including symphonic, jazz and rock.  Flores has studied under such guitar greats as Juan Serrano, Jack Peterson and Dave Stryker. 

He attended Del Mar College and Texas A&M University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in Classical Guitar Performance. 

After graduation, he performed with several bands in the South Texas area and taught in the Coastal Bend area before returning to school. 

Flores is currently a student at the University of North Texas, where he is pursuing a graduate degree in jazz studies at the nationally acclaimed school of music in Denton.
