ROCKPORT, TX --  The Rockport Center for the Arts is pleased to present the Percussion Ensemble of Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) as part of its ongoing Young Performing Artists Series.  The concert will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31st at Main Street Arts Performing Arts Center, located at 902 E. Main Street. 

Sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts, In Memory of Gary Cooper, an Anonymous Donor, and the Margaret Sue Rust Foundation, the program is designed to showcase the talents of young performers in the area. 

Tickets, which may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Art Center, are $3 for individuals and $8 families.

Under the direction of James Rennier, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Music at TAMU-CC, the Percussion Ensemble performs a number of pieces including standard percussion ensembles, drumline pieces, jazz, electronic and STOMP-esque music among others. 

Founded in the spring of 1999 at the Texas A&M-College Station campus, the program has been expanded to include Other A&M  campuses offering a music degree.
