Birds in Art
A world class exhibition at its only Texas venue!
Whether the subjects are backyard favorites or exotic species from around the world, an international cast of artists interprets avian themes and habitats employing diverse styles and mediums. The show will includeAl Barnes,Ewoud de Groot,Jim Offeman, andKent Ullbergamong many other internationally recognized artists.
The exhibition's two month run is made possible byThe Margaret Sue Rust Foundation,Pete and M.A. Fisher, andTexas Commission on the Arts. The annual juriedBirds in Artexhibition is organized by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI, where the 2012 show debuted. It travels to only four venues in 2013. Rockport Center for the Arts will be itsonlyTexas showing.
A public reception will kick off the show's two-month run onSaturday, September 14, from 5-7 pm, which is FREE and OPEN to the public. A full list of exhibiting artists is below, and full-color catalogs will be available for sale.
