Mimi Braniff

Mimi Braniff has been part of the Rockport Art Center family since 1999. She was featured as a Merit Artist in 2001, in both Aransas Artists for Nature exhibitions (in 2005 and 2008) and was designated as one of Texas's Ten Best Craftspersons in 2005.

She exhibits at Comforts of Home and teaches and lectures on quilting and fibers and Golden Needles and Quilts and surrounding areas.

"Modern Quilting" is a trend that originated in California and spread rapidly all over the U.S. with the establishment of many Modern Quilt Guilds. The thrust of the movement embraces simple shapes, use of negative space and solid colors.
