Barnebey is known for her acutely painted transparent watercolors and she has exhibited in hundreds of shows and galleries throughout Texas. She is a two-time Poster Artist for Aransas Pass Shrimporee. In 2000, she was selected as the Rockport Art Festival Poster Artist. In 2007, she was invited to design an ornament for the White House Christmas Tree. That piece remains in the White House’s permanent art collection. The majority of her work is held in private collections.  In 2008 she was selected by Ducks Unlimited Texas as poster artist.
