Class Description:
In this class, students will work with the simplest of forms- the box. Participate will get to choose to create a “catch-all” box for your little treasures or a little fantasy land domicile bird house for one of your feathered friends.
On the first day of the class- student will hand build their projects. (Items will be left in the studio to dry and be bisque fired)
During the next class students will glaze their pieces to be fired for a second time.
Once the pieces are fired, Students will be notified on when they can come pick up their finished box or bird house.
About the Instructor:
Ken Reese started off as Electrical Engineer and worked in a career in coal mining doing civil and mechanical engineering consulting work. But for the last 30-years, Ken has been teaching and demonstrating pottery. After retirement, Ken went back to school and studied pottery and art in Dallas plus and with the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fl. Ken also studied at the International School of Ceramics in Italy. Ken has taught pottery at the Art Centers for many years.
