Invite yourself to emotionally relax, let whatever you need to know come out in colors, shapes, designs and imagery. Let go of your everyday, accomplishing mind, so that those hidden parts of self can arise and open your heart to aspects of yourself through art. Keep your mind and body open to intuitive insight.  Practice playing, loosening up, freeing and opening up your creativity. We will lead you along this path of expressing those feelings, emotions and thoughts through painting in various mediums.

“I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.”

                                                            Georgia O’Keefe

Painting intuitively is a process, one that if pursued, will make what is unconscious conscious. It will allow you to find your medicine. To becoming more awake and alive. More whole. More real. More authentic. More you. To developing an unshakeable alliance with your inner wisdom and your inner healer. Paint what feels good, you should end up with art that is positive or meaningful. This is processed based painting, based on mindfulness, creative permission and the act of spontaneous expression.

Supplies you will need to bring:

Acrylic paints (soft body acrylics, they flow, not heavy body acrylics, these are thick), bring colors that resonate with your inner self, along with white, black and neutral colors.

Paint brushes, various sizes

Water container

Paper towels

Apron or paint clothes

We will supply:

Paper canvas to create on

Mixed Media items to use on piece

About the Artists

Twin sisters and artists, Sharen Chatterton and Karen Rester are unique in their own respective creative processes and when working together, bring magic to whatever they are doing. Their Art is as varied and eclectic as they are. “It is all about listening to the wisdom of your soul.” Whether painting in acrylics, watercolor, sculpting with clay, spinning, weaving or mixing it up creating a mixed media piece, it is a journey, a path that they have created together. Every art book they have created is filled with their heart and soul. Every piece of art is imagined with color. texture and feeling, to bring forward an emotional response from the viewer. “We like to think that every paint stroke brings energy and light to the piece. Each is a journey, unique and ever evolving.”

About Teaching

“As a teacher, we believe that being creative is a choice and anyone who chooses to take that leap into feeling free to express their artistic abilities, with us, will have fun and make their own unique art. In our workshops, we provide a place for you to choose your colors, your words, a place that allows you to express your unique self, exploring our bag of tricks and techniques and then using any or all that you choose.”

Education

“We have been artists all our life and taught for a good part of it. We have taken and taught mixed media, watercolor, and art healing workshops in Texas, New Mexico and Online, for many years. We work in acrylics, watercolors, mixed media and fiber, producing artwork as well as teaching classes in each. “
