Al Baha-Sketchbook is a verbal and visual journal of Koutnik's 1991 visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where her husband was employed as a surgeon at King Fahad Hospital. Although she is an American citizen, she must discard her previous lifestyle and identity to comply with the stringent morays that have controlled women in Saudi Arabia for generations.
Fort Worth-Based Artist Billy Hassell shows solo in Corpus, with fellow artists in Rockport
Artist Billy Hassell is currently in two places at once; a solo exhibition entitled Migration at the Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi, and as part of a group exhibition entitled Printmaking Now at Rockport Center for the Arts. Billy was present at both opening receptions, and signed limited edition prints of "Red Wing Blackbird" at Rockport Center for the Arts.

John Aasp Joins Art Center as Director of Visual Arts
ROCKPORT, TEXAS -- John Aasp, a multimedia artist, has been named Director of Visual Arts for The Rockport Center for the Arts. In this position he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Art Center’s visual arts programs; planning and installation of all exhibitions; be a member of the Exhibition Committee, RCA Strategic Planning and Sculpture Garden Committees; provide leadership for all art-related areas of the Rockport Art Festival; and will continue to build relationships with artists, art gallery managers and art patrons in Rockport.
