Fabric Collage with Jimi Kabela

Students will learn about creating visual harmony with contrasting patterns and shapes. Students will complete 1-2 collages and learn the how to create a balanced design and “peace in chaos.”

About the Instructor: Jimi Kabela
Jimi Kabela was born in 1990 in Mbuji Mayi, Democratic Republic of Congo. Kabela has eleven siblings; he is number seven from the top. Kabala moved to the United States in 2000. Jimi Kabela has traveled to over 15 countries in the past ten years including Italy, France, China, Brazil and Equatorial Guinea. Kabala is a recent recipient of the Outstanding Senior Award from the graduating Class of 2021 at the University of Texas at Arlington (BFA in Painting, Minor in Design), which is the most distinguished award at the university for graduating seniors.
