Printing on clay is similar to printing on paper but rather than using ink, refractory colored slips and or underglaze will be used. In this workshop students will print patterns on soft clay slabs using stencils and or photosensitive silkscreen.
Students will learn to make their own silk screens using photosensitive silkscreen material available in class at a nominal cost ($5 per 4" x 10" sheet).
Stan will share many helpful and time saving techniques for building with and combining printed slabs with wheel thrown forms.
With Stan's many years of experience as a potter and teacher, this is sure to be a fun and informative workshop intended for intermediate to advanced wheel throwers and hand builders.
