Silversmithing 101 - The Zen of Metal Etching
We will discuss etching methods using chemicals to cut a design or pattern into a metal surface. You will learn the basics of how to choose your metals, choose your echants, create, or transfer your images with resists, and complete the etching process to make a fun copper or brass pendant. Plus, I will show the process I go through to get my mandala drawings onto my sterling silver jewelry.
About the Instructor:
I dove into silversmithing 6 years ago, primarily self-taught. Learning how to etch gave her pieces texture. Discovering that she could use her own mandala patterns in her jewelry allowed her to "Gain my own voice in my pieces".
Her work brings balance to her life and happiness to her soul.
