Lisa Baer - 2009 Rockport Art Festival Poster Artist

Our 40th Art Festival could not be better represented than by local artist Lisa Baer. Her colorful collages and paintings show a fresh, contemporary style with her roots firmly set in the very beginnings of the Rockport Art Association. The niece of Estelle Stair (considered the founding mother of the Rockport Art Association), Baer and her husband John Paul Frederick have been working to restore the Estelle Stair Gallery building in downtown Rockport.

At 10 years old she was taking painting classes with Simon Michael, a founding father of the Art Colony in Rockport. Lisa continued to come to Rockport every summer, taking classes, working in her aunt's gallery, and soaking up the Rockport sun. Years later she continues to make work reflective of her Texas coastal experience, and does so in an original, colorful style, like no other artist in Rockport.

Please join us to kick off Art Festival Season on Saturday, July 20, from 5-7 pm, and get your Art Festival Poster signed by the artist!
