Diane Pike is known for her confident, sharp and colorful plein air paintings. Pike received her degree in Fine Art from the University of Northern Colorado where she studied printmaking and graphic design, then worked for 10 years as a graphic designer in Denver. After a painting class in 2002, her talent rose quickly as she began to exhibit, win awards, and teach workshops.
Pike's Rockport debut was a solo show in the Garden Gallery in 2009, where she also led an informal plein-air paint-out and critique session. Pike has returned every year since to teach an often full plein air workshop. In 2011 Pike led a painting class to Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, taking several Rockport artists with her.
In March 2014, Pike returns to Rockport for a three-week residency to include a solo exhibition and a free workshop for members. Pike will also curate a collection of her student's work for the Garden Gallery. A reception will be held Saturday, April 12 beginning with a Gallery Talk at 4:30 pm.
