Stan Irvin is a ceramic artist and Professor of Art at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. He received his MFA from the University of Texas at Austin and subsequently set up the clay programs at Austin Museum of Art and later at St. Edward's University in Austin. Irvin continues to do hand building, wheel-throwing and glaze workshops for intermediate and advanced students throughout the region. He won first place in the 2009 Texas Teapot Tournament in Houston, TX and was a juror for the 40th Annual Rockport Art Festival. "Coming About" will be Irvin's first solo presentation at Rockport Center for the Arts.
